Your Beauty Secret

Kansas City’s Transaxillary Breast Augmentation Specialist

You have a vision for your body, and scars on your chest are not a part of the plan.

To achieve your vision, turn to Dr. John Michael Quinn, voted Kansas City’s Best Plastic Surgeon (Kansas City Magazine, 2021 & 2022). Dr. Quinn uses a safe, effective surgical technique called transaxillary breast augmentation to enhance the breasts without leaving any scars on the breast. That’s because this technique places the incisions in the armpit, not underneath or on the breast. Learn more about this technique and why Dr. Quinn chose to specialize in it, then schedule a consultation for transaxillary breast augmentation surgery in Kansas City at Quinn Plastic Surgery & Aesthetic Center.

Under the Arm, Out of Sight

What is Transaxillary Breast Augmentation Surgery?

Transaxillary breast augmentation surgery uses the crease of the armpit as the incision point to insert a saline or silicone gel implant that will augment the size and shape of the breast. Compared to other techniques, the transaxillary method results in the least amount of visible scarring.

Dr. Quinn is one of the few transaxillary breast augmentation surgeons Kansas City has. He meets personally with each patient, discusses their body goals, and helps them determine the type of intervention that will best meet those goals. His “hidden scar” technique for transaxillary breast augmentation surgeries makes the scar almost undetectable after recovery.

A Safer, More Comfortable Option

What are the Benefits of Transaxillary Breast Augmentation?

Dr. Quinn has more than 30 years of experience using this method, so he is able to create beautiful, natural-looking, symmetrical breasts through the transaxillary method. Compared to other breast augmentation methods, transaxillary breast implant surgery offers numerous benefits. By placing each implant through an incision in the armpit rather than the inframammary crease, Dr. Quinn can achieve better symmetry and reduce the risk of nipple numbness. Dr. Quinn can use either saline or silicone implants in his Kansas City transaxillary breast augmentation procedures, giving you versatility as well as decreased visible scarring and faster recovery times.

A Plan for Every Body

Am I a Good Candidate for Transaxillary Breast Augmentation Surgery?

While the benefits of transaxillary breast augmentations are great, they may not work in every situation. With Dr. Quinn, your satisfaction and goals come first. He will make sure your surgery plan reflects your wishes and will go through the pros and cons of each method with you during your consultation.

Dr. Quinn’s Hidden Scar Technique

A Transaxillary Breast Augmentation Kansas City Specialist

Over 35 years in practice, Dr. Quinn has mastered the complexities of transaxillary breast augmentations. Transaxillary breast augmentation uses an incision under the arms in the armpit as a way to insert the implants, which are then placed with a funnel. While this style is more difficult to do well, choosing a specialist like Dr. Quinn for this technique can lead to beautiful results, including better symmetry and less risk of postoperative complications.

The Path to Your New Look

Your Transaxillary Breast Augmentation Surgery Procedure

Once you are under anesthesia, Dr. Quinn uses small incisions to insert the desired implant type and size, then adjusts the implants to ensure proper positioning. As with all surgical procedures, this method uses a sterile field during insertion to minimize the risk of complications. Following this procedure, Dr. Quinn closes the incisions and allows you to recover from anesthesia. You will need to have someone drive you home after surgery, as you will be groggy following the procedure.

Get Back to Your Day-to-Day Faster

Transaxillary Breast Augmentation Surgery Recovery

Because the incisions in transaxillary breast augmentation surgery are less than two inches in length, most patients find the recovery to be quite manageable and are able to get back to most activities within a few days of surgery, depending on the procedure and their routine.

Your New Silhouette

Transaxillary Breast Augmentation Results

Once your initial recovery is complete, it will still take some time for your final results to emerge. In the weeks and months following surgery, your implants will “drop and fluff” as they find their permanent position in your body. After this initial period of settling, your results will remain, though keep in mind your breasts will continue to change with your weight and age.
