While Dr. Quinn has performed mastopexy using a variety of techniques, he has found that the anchor technique is the most effective method of achieving ideal results for patients. ANCHOR TECHNIQUE
The end result is a lifted, visually-pleasing pair of breasts. Whether a patient wants to reduce breast tissue and lift the breast, or simply lift and reshape the breast tissue, this technique gives Dr. Quinn ideal access and ability to achieve a patient's desired outcomes. He will first make a vertical and a circumferential areola incision. He'll then make a third incision along the bottom of the breasts, creating an anchor shape. Kansas women who are experiencing severe sagging in their breasts can benefit greatly from this breast lift method, but it is also a good option for minor lifts as well. Incision scars will heal with proper care and be easily concealed.
Types
These are cohesive-gel breast implants filled with silicone gel, which feels most similar to natural breast tissue. Silicone implants are pre-filled with their gel material. This implant will give a more natural look and feel.
These implants are slightly different than the silicone implant. Instead of being pre-filled, the shell is first inserted into the body empty. Then Dr. Quinn pumps the shell full of a saline solution. Saline solutions are comprised of sterile saltwater. The saline breast implant is firmer to the touch and results in a more augmented type of look.

Your appointment will begin with a thorough physical examination. The best surgical plan for your body will depend on your medical history and your current state of health. Patients will have two options: subglandular and submuscular. While Dr. Quinn typically recommends a submuscular placement, he will discuss the pros and cons of each option so that you are informed and feel comfortable with your decision. You'll be able to view before and after pictures so you can get a general idea of the type of results that are possible. However, every patient is unique. This is why it is important that you let Dr. Quinn know your goals for your appearance, so that he can tailor your mastopexy and augmentation results to both compliment your natural appearance and achieve your desired aesthetic outcome.
The first step in your surgery will be to mark the spots on your skin where the surgeon plans to make an incision. These will be a guide for Dr. Quinn, and will reaffirm the desired results of the procedure with you. Once everything is ready, you'll be placed under anesthesia. Dr. Quinn will make an anchor incision in the breast, which will allow him to address breast sagging from the underside of the breast. Once excess tissue and skin are removed as necessary, the skin will be tightened to position the breasts in their ideal lifted shape, and the implant will be carefully placed within the breast.
A breast lift with implants is an outpatient procedure. You will be monitored after your surgery by our trained medical staff to make sure you are recovering well from the anesthesia before you will be permitted to return home to begin you recovery. You will need to arrange for a friend or family member to drive you home after your procedure, as you will have limited arm mobility for 24 to 48 hours after your procedure and will still be feeling minor effects of the anesthesia.
Every patient will receive detailed instructions for their recovery from their Kansas City breast implants and breast lift. Your breasts will be wrapped after your procedure. Patients are also invited to call Dr. Quinn's office with any questions they may have. Avoid sleeping on your stomach, as well as lying flat on your back during this period. A reclined, angled sleeping position is recommended. This is the best way to reduce swelling. Dr. Quinn will discuss approved pain relief medications with you. Most patients find they only need this medication for 48 hours before they can turn to other methods of relieving their discomfort, but this will depend on the patient. You will receive instructions regarding special exercises that you should do to restore your comfortable mobility.
Patients in general can return to work within one week of their breast implant & lift procedure. After two weeks, patients will be able to resume low impact exercises. More active exercises like running and heavy lifting can be resumed after six weeks or as instructed. Final results will become apparent after six to twelve weeks. Your breast will sit in a more youthful, elevated position and look fuller, more symmetrical, and attractively shaped.
