A BroadBand Light Laser is a device used to perform laser treatment in wider areas that aren’t so targeted. Rosacea, acne, and much more can be treated using this method of applying cooling gel to the affected areas and running over the gel with the BBL laser to treat the area. What to Expect
When you begin, your practitioner may apply a cooling gel and a topical anesthetic to numb the area being treated. Then, they will go over the area with the BBL laser machine, which targets the pigment in the skin, heats up any pigment that isn’t supposed to be there, and gets rid of it. At the same time, the BBL laser stimulates collagen production to renew skin cells for a more glowing complexion. During this procedure, you will be given goggles to protect your eyes.
Confidence Is Just Around the Corner
Your recovery from BBL treatment may be similar to recovering from a moderate sunburn: soreness to the touch, a feeling of slight but constant heat, and potential sloughing of skin as the healing process takes place. It is recommended to avoid direct sunlight or tanning, keep the area free of scented lotions or perfumes, wear sunscreen, and apply cold compresses in the case of any discomfort or pain. Side effects and redness should not last more than about two weeks.
You will see improvement after about two weeks post-treatment. While the first BBL treatment may not yield the desired end outcome, you will see progress with each session as the BBL laser slowly minimizes imperfections, layer by layer. It is up to you and your aesthetic experts to decide how many treatments you may need. Most patients come back every year or two after achieving their desired results just to ensure they are staying on top of routine maintenance.

Possibly. Some patients feel only heat once the cooling gel is applied, but some have reported a feeling like a sunburn or a sensation comparable to having a rubber band snapped on their skin. It is a very bearable procedure.
As with any laser or light procedure, there is a chance of skin irritation post-procedure. There is also a risk of discoloration or hyperpigmentation, burns, or scarring. It is important to follow your instructions for recovery to ensure your treatment is safe and effective.
