We generally recommend that patients schedule their injections at a time when minor swelling or bruising won’t disrupt any social obligations (vacations, weddings, presentations, or other events). It’s also recommended to avoid strenuous exercise, excessive sun exposure, and alcohol for at least 24 to 48 hours post-treatment. You may want to sleep with your head elevated and avoid touching or massaging the treated areas. To maintain your results, it’s important to follow any personalized skincare advice from your provider and schedule touch-up treatments as needed, typically every 6 to 18 months, depending on the filler used.
