Say Goodbye to Baby Hairs

What is Facial Waxing?

Facial waxing is a straightforward method for getting rid of any and all unwanted hair from the face. By applying a warm, gentle wax to the face and quickly peeling it off with a special paper that sticks to the wax as it cools, those tiny hairs will be gone for quite a while.

All Pros, No Cons

What are the Benefits of Facial Waxing?

There are quite a few benefits that come with facial waxing besides the obvious hairless complexion. Waxing provides the skin with an excellent means of exfoliation– before a wax, the skin is cleaned and dried, which starts to break up any dead skin in the pores, only for the wax to then lift away unwanted hair and debris. Not only does waxing help clear out your skin, but it also makes for an incredibly smooth surface for any makeup you might wear, giving you a sleek and even look.

To Wax, Or Not to Wax

Am I a Good Candidate for Facial Waxing?

If you are someone who experiences a lot of facial hair growth, such as peach fuzz around the temples or cheeks or stubborn, thick hairs on the chin that never seem to stay gone, facial waxing is absolutely a good option for you! It is not recommended for those with sensitive skin to get this treatment as it involves a lot of skin cleansing and exfoliating. Suppose you are unsure of the treatment or have any questions or concerns regarding your eligibility for facial waxing. In that case, we highly recommend scheduling a consultation with us so we can provide individualized information for you.

What to Expect

From Your Kansas City Facial Waxing

Once you have arrived at your Kansas City facial waxing appointment, it is not uncommon for those with long hair to be asked to pull it back and out of the way. Your aesthetician will gently cleanse your face with a light exfoliant before drying it thoroughly. Once your skin is clean and dry, the warm wax will be administered to the areas that need hair removal.

A thin strip of waxing paper will then be quickly placed on top of the wax and smoothed over it so that the paper is adequately stuck to the wax. The wax is left to cool for a few moments before the paper is tugged off the skin quickly, leaving a slight stinging sensation but buttery smooth skin. After finishing the areas of treatment, the skin will be cleansed with a gentle cleanser to eliminate any wax residue, and you’ll be all done!

Small Effort, Smooth Results

Facial Waxing Recovery

The healing process is very simple and easy for facial waxing! After your appointment, the results will be immediate. However, your skin may take on a pink or red tone for a little while. This coloration shouldn’t last more than an hour or so, and the slight stinging sensation should subside soon after the appointment itself finishes up. Try to avoid direct sunlight to prevent burning or any kind of skin damage. Harsh and fragrant soaps should also be avoided for a few hours after the treatment.

A Radiant Glow That Lasts For Weeks

Facial Waxing Results

While the effects are immediate, they are not permanent. Facial hair, unfortunately, will continue to grow back unless you undergo a more extensive hair removal procedure, such as laser hair removal. Most patients return for follow-up wax appointments after about two to eight weeks.

Facial Waxing Frequently Asked Questions

Since this treatment involves peeling the hot wax quickly off the face, patients may feel slight stinging. Your aesthetician will typically follow up the quick peel of wax with a soothing gloved hand on the skin to cool the area and reduce stinging. Luckily, this stinging does not typically last more than a few seconds.

Unfortunately, insurance will not cover most cosmetic treatments, such as facial waxing.

It’s best to avoid direct sunlight to keep your skin in the healthiest state possible. It is also recommended that you skip applying perfumes, scented lotions, or other heavy products while your skin is still healing from the wax treatment.
