How Many Times Do You Have To Do CoolSculpting?

At the intersection of technology and body contouring lies CoolSculpting. With the power of cold, CoolSculpting is able to freeze away fat cells with advanced technology kind of like a powerful vacuum. We all have those stubborn areas that we’d like to improve, but sometimes diet and exercise aren’t enough. And if you’re within 30 pounds of your ideal body weight, CoolSculpting can be the answer to a leaner, more refined body shape.

However, since CoolSculpting is an elective medical procedure, patients, not their insurance providers, are responsible for each application, which can be a source of anxiety for patients that are worried about cost. But unlike fillers, Botox and other cosmetic procedures that are short-lasting and require periodic touch-ups to look their best, CoolSculpting is a permanent procedure.

For CoolSculpting services in the Kansas City area, the exact nature of your treatment will depend on the areas of your body requiring treatment. Smaller treatment areas that cover less of your body usually only require one treatment, and the good news is that once you’ve completed treatment you won’t often need additional treatments to realize the full effect of CoolSculpting. Some patients may elect for follow-up treatments, but most patients can achieve their goals after just one affordable treatment.

As opposed to invasive surgeries that can require extensive recovery times, CoolSculpting with our team in Kansas City is a quick, outpatient procedure that takes just a few hours — and many times less.

CoolSculpting for Arms

For those with stubborn fat in the upper arms, CoolSculpting is a great alternative to invasive surgeries that can cost a considerable amount and leave you with significant downtime. With CoolSculpting, a 30-minute treatment is all that’s needed for each arm, making for a quick, one-hour visit of fat-busting treatment. And since you’ll only need one session of CoolSculpting, you’ll be in and out and on with your life before you know it.

CoolSculpting for Stomach

As one of the most common CoolSculpting areas, we all know that the stomach is a particularly troublesome region from which to shed excess fat. Whether due to pregnancy, metabolism or the effects of age, this particularly stubborn area is an excellent candidate for CoolSculpting. Better yet, the entire procedure takes just a half-hour to an hour to permanently shed unwanted fat cells from the stomach. Some patients may elect to go for two or more sessions to maximize the effects of the procedure, but most will only need one.

CoolSculpting for Thighs

Because of how fat builds up in the body, thighs are common treatment areas for our CoolSculpting clients. But the thighs’ larger fat stores means that you may need a separate treatment for both the outer and inner thighs, and double that again for both legs. That said, each treatment can be completed in as little as 30 minutes, meaning that both legs can be treated in just an afternoon. And like all other CoolSculpting procedures, results are permanent after just one session.

CoolSculpting Recovery Time

After a CoolSculpting visit, your body takes over and handles the rest. Over the next four to six months, the targeted fat cells from the CoolSculpting procedure will automatically fade away, making for a natural and realistic slimming that needs no explanation or comment. Some patients may experience minor side effects such as slight pain and numbness, but that typically only lasts a few weeks, if at all.

The best part is that you won’t need to take any time off of work or from your normal day-to-day activities; some patients even return to work the same day of their CoolSculpting procedure. Most patients, however, may benefit from clearing their treatment day so that they can focus on their procedure and not stress about getting right back to things.

Generally, you’ll only need to set aside a few hours per treatment, though once you’re comfortable with your treatments you may elect to schedule a treatment whenever you have an afternoon free. But if you’re looking to treat multiple body parts in the same treatment day, you may want to clear your day.

How Long Does CoolSculpting Last?

As a permanent procedure, the CoolSculpting effects will last for a lifetime. However, some particularly troublesome areas may require multiple sessions before optimal results are achieved. Discussing your goals with your provider will give you a better idea of how many sessions are needed to achieve your ideal body.

Compared to traditional weight loss, where fat cells are shrunk, not removed, CoolSculpting actually removes troublesome fat cells from your body — permanently. On average, these fat cells are reduced by about 20 percent, though some procedures may see a reduction in fat cells of up to 40 percent. More often than not, a greater effect is common in smaller treatment areas such as the arms and areas around the face. Even still, additional procedures can be scheduled if a greater reduction is desired.

Keep in mind that while CoolSculpting is permanent, it’s not a barrier to gaining weight — additional fat cells can again take hold in a previously treated area. Along with CoolSculpting, it’s a good idea to engage in diet and exercise to get the most out of your treatments. You can always go through another CoolSculpting procedure in the future, but the ideal approach is to prevent the fat from coming back through lifestyle changes.

Will Insurance Cover My CoolSculpting Procedure?

As a cosmetic treatment, CoolSculpting in Kansas City is not covered by your health insurance. That said, your CoolSculpting provider may offer various discounts or payment plans to help offset the cost of treatment. Compared to other types of procedures, CoolSculpting is actually very affordable, and with minimal downtime it’s also a viable option at any time of the year — just keep in mind that it can take up to six months to realize the full effect, so don’t plan that pool party for immediately after your first session.
